About the Book
This book will appeal to all the many fans of Penny’s tapestries, as well as to students of tapestry who may be new to her work.
Printed in full colour throughout, it comprises a pictorial record of the tapestry designs of artist Penny Burns (1938 – 2010), owner of Peacock Tapestries, who created them throughout her life.
Each design takes the form of a small motif, painstakingly painted onto card, before creating the finished tapestry. These motifs were integral to her creative process and form a fascinating archive. They clearly show Penny’s love of nature and her habit of allowing careful observation of natural forms to inform all her designs.
